FAQs
- WHAT IS SCHNEIDER & CO.'S HOUSE STYLE?
- Schneider & Co’s house style is distinct, drawing inspiration from Milanese and Southern Italian tailoring. It is characterised by low lapel gorges, balanced wide lapels, structured, extended shoulders and a sharply defined chest and waist. We are the antithesis of tight, short silhouettes, instead embodying a masculine yet elegant aesthetic.
- WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MADE-TO-MEASURE AND BESPOKE?
- Made-to-Measure (MTM) garments are created from an existing pattern that is individually adjusted to your body measurements, providing a personalised fit while maintaining a shorter lead time and a more cost effective process. Although the pattern is refined to suit your proportions, it is based on an existing block rather than being drafted entirely from scratch. As a result, highly individual aspects such as posture, balance and subtle body asymmetries can be accommodated to a certain extent, but not to the same level as a bespoke garment.
By contrast, our Semi-Bespoke and Bespoke garments are developed specifically around your body from the outset. The pattern is designed to account for your unique proportions, posture and preferences, allowing for a far greater level of precision and refinement. Through detailed fittings and extensive handwork, these garments achieve a more natural fit, enhanced comfort and a distinctly three-dimensional silhouette.
The difference between Semi-Bespoke and Bespoke lies primarily in the level of hand craftsmanship involved.
Our Semi-Bespoke garments feature handwork in all areas where it is essential to the structure, including pad stitching, hand-finished details to enhance the fit and drape character of the garment. However, elements that do not significantly benefit from hand construction such as pockets, may be completed using a combination of traditional and modern techniques.
Our Bespoke garments represent the highest expression of tailoring. Every stage of construction is carried out by hand, using the finest canvases, linings and tailoring materials available. This level of craftsmanship creates the elegant drape, softness and sculpted three-dimensional silhouette that can only be achieved through true handmade tailoring.
